About Intercable Tools
At Intercable Tools, we don’t just make tools — we create solutions for installing realiable electrical networks on a safe way. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of specialized tools for working with LV and MV cables, and manufacturers of electrical connection systems, we combine decades of expertise with cutting-edge innovation to deliver products you can trust.
Founded in 1972 by Herbert Mutschlechner, as a trading company, our family-owned business has grown steadily over the decades. In 1986, we expanded into the production of insulated tools—a major milestone in our growth. Later, we achieved similar breakthroughs by adding hydraulic tool manufacturing and cable connector production to our portfolio.
Our headquarters in Bruneck, nestled in the breathtaking Dolomites of South Tyrol, is the heart of our operations. In addition to our main site, we operate production facilities in other Italian cities and in Germany too.
To better serve our customers, Intercable Tools also has branches in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and in Hungary for the Eastern Central European areas, ensuring support and fast delivery across these regions.

Research & Development
Everything starts here! About 95% of our products are developed by our internal R&D department – this process includes preliminary development, design, rigorous testing, product development and finally, process development – industrialization.
This allows us to also develop custom solutions and meet the wishes of our customers.
Plastic Production
Here at Intercable we use 2,500 tons of plastic material every year – with over 30 injection molding machines, nearly 2,000 items are produced from plastic granulate for the Tools division! The waste generated by the injection molding process is continuously recycled by us – creating a sustainable cycle that saves energy and material. Who says plastic can’t be sustainable?
Production of Stamped Parts
What most people don’t know: we are not just a manufacturer of tools for electricians. We also produce high-quality cable lugs in numerous different designs for the electrical industry. All cable lugs from Intercable are manufactured either in Peine, Lower Saxony or in Desenzano on Lake Garda – this guarantees the highest quality Made in Germany and Made in Italy.
Electroplating
Our connection materials, such as tubular cable lugs and connectors, are electroplated in-house. This process creates a corrosion-resistant layer that protects the contact surface between the cable lug and other components, thereby optimizing electrical conductivity. The coating is especially important because it also significantly improves the lifespan of our products.
Metal Production
Some of our tools – including the entire family of the battery-operated Stilos – feature a component that is milled in the metal production department. For example, the pump bodies for all Stilos are produced here – an important yet complex part made of aluminum, which is precisely milled by our state-of-the-art and modern machines. This department also sharpens the blades of our famous F1 cable cutter scissors – ready for assembly.
Tool Assembly
Every year, we assemble thousands of electrician scissors, cutting tools and crimping tools. Our experienced employees handle the tools with the utmost care and expertise, ensuring top quality according to the zero-defect principle.
Quality Certification
We talk a lot about quality – an intangible concept. At Intercable, however, we make quality tangible: thanks to our in-house testing laboratory! With numerous climate chambers, a few thermal shock chambers, tensile-compression testing machines, sectioning equipment, high-voltage testing systems, test towers for current tests, as well as an insulation/high-voltage device/oscilloscope, we are well-equipped and can guarantee quality that you can see.
